In many factories, vacuum requirements are met by placing a separate pump next to each machine. As the number of machines increases, this approach brings along scattered maintenance, high energy consumption, heat, and noise issues. A central vacuum system generates the vacuum at a single point and distributes it to all consumption points via a pipeline network.

How is a central system installed?

At the heart of the system is a vacuum tank and one or more pumps that keep the tank within the desired vacuum range. The control panel measures the pressure in the tank and activates or stops the pumps according to demand. The main line originating from the tank reaches the machines via valves.

Advantages

  • Energy saving: Not all machines pull full vacuum at the same time. In a central system, pumps operate according to average demand; the number of idling pumps decreases.
  • Redundancy: In systems with multiple pumps, while one pump is undergoing maintenance, the others continue production.
  • Quieter and cooler production area: Pumps are housed in a separate mechanical room; heat and noise are distanced from the production floor.
  • Easy maintenance: Maintenance is performed at a single point, in a planned and rapid manner.
  • Scalability: When adding a new machine, opening a connection on the line is usually sufficient.

Suitable for which businesses?

Facilities where vacuum is used at multiple points, such as CNC machining centers, packaging lines, woodworking and furniture workshops, printing houses, hospitals, and laboratories, are the businesses that benefit the most from a central system.

Points to consider

The efficiency of a central system depends on the correct tank volume, adequate pipe diameter, and a leak-proof installation. An improperly dimensioned line can lead to low vacuum at remote machines. Therefore, the system must be designed taking into account the list of consumption points and the simultaneous usage rate.

ZVS series central vacuum systems are manufactured with tank volumes ranging from 25 liters to 5000 liters and pump options from 1 to 4. Share the number of machines and vacuum requirements in your facility, and let us design the suitable system for you together.
